coolant leak. Thermostat housing gasket

I just replaced my Thermostat . The engine is running 20 degrees hotter. Now my thermostat housing gaskets are leaking. This diagram calls for parts 7 and 8. I have not found these parts in the engine cooing section of the service manual.

Auto zone was able to sell me part number 7 and orlies was not much help. Next stop is NAPA tommarow morning.

Ford wants to sell me the whole manifold assembly (part #2L2Z9424AB) for 460 dollars which is a last resort. Does anyone have any experience doing this job?

Hmm. sadly i have 0 knowledge with those engines however my best advice is make sure everything is nice and clean and nice and flat. use a very tiny amount of gasket maker on your gaskets just to hold it in place during assembly. With it running hotter aside from you have a leak did they give the same temp tstat and if it had a jiggle valve did it get clocked correctly?

After doing more research and watching more videos it appears that I have to replace the intake manifold. This will be the 3rd coolant part that I a replacing. Just replaced the heater control valve and thermostat. Very much considering replacing all plastic/rubber coolant parts at this time to prevent future problems seeing as to how I should drain all the coolant out.

I replaced my thermostat, which ended up cracking the manifold and thus replacing the manifold. The all plastic manifold, stock, came with a metal crossover and housing on the replacement. I didn't find it a difficult job -- BUT, the Dorman replacement manifold I used has a coolant port on the back passenger side. They supply a clamp and rubber cap if you don't need to use that port. The clamp and cap are junk -- don't use them. You can search and see how other people did it -- I used a short section of regular heater hose , sealant, and a large bolt with standard screw on type clamps. I got left on the freeway out of town TWICE thanks to cheap caps and clamps.
