Are there any pics or diagrams of the bolts on here?

No, I dont have one. Guess I will have to buy one.

I got a Haynes Manual, but none of the pictures are really good enough to describe where the bolts are when everything is still connected. I am having a hard time looking at the pictures and visualizing the bolts etc with everything connected.

This is where the water is leaking...inbetween the alternator and intake manifold, but way lower. Not sure, but it looks like maybe a valve cover? Or lower intake manifold gasket? It is really hard to tell from the picture that it's wet at all, but when I looked at it, that is where it is coming from.

Also, on the coolant temp sensor, I am confused on where it is exactly. Is it ON the intake manifold?

I would still try to tighten the lower intake bolts. It will be a pain in the butt to get to all of them, but it beats paying a shop.

If it were mine I would replace the radiator hoses. The one pictured is old and that hose clamp is factory. Check to see if that hose isn't seeping. I know it goes to the thermostat but there could be a weak spot in the hose.

Ok, now I found it on the explorer finally!

What about the leak?? I know it's very hard to tell from the picture, and very hard to explain. It almost looks like it's leaking from the valve cover?

I am waiting on my tax refund to replace a LIST of parts :) The rad hoses being at the top of the list. My fan is also cracked, so I am going to just replace that and the fan clutch too. May as well since the fan is bad.

Ok, I will see about tightening the lower intake bolts. Not sure how I will get to them with all that stuff in the way lol.

It has a small oil leak too, but not sure where it's coming from.

Is the gauge temp sensor the one on the driver side of the manifold? the one with the big plastic connector?

Got the temp gauge to work finally. Going to take the x into another shop for a 2nd opinion on the coolant leak.

I'd put my money on freeze out plug(s) and or small pin hole leak in a hose. If I remember correctly, there is a freeze out plug very close to where you say the leak is. Make sure the second opinion "folks" check the freeze out plugs. All of them.

I am replacing the radiator hoses this weekend. I will have the next place I take it to check the freeze out plugs. The leak isnt coming from the bottom, its coming from up higher. But I dont think its the water pump.
