It's time for new tires since the japan crap bridgestones are pretty much toast, I've been looking at a few different tires but the AT3s seem pretty good for the price and I like the fact cooper is an American owned company. I know they are a newer tire design but has anyone had any experience with these tires yet? I would love to get a nice set of BF Goodrich ATs or a set of nicer Michelins but I don't have that kind of money for tires and the AT3's seem plenty good for me.

i dont have first hand experience with coopers, but a few of my buddies run them and they love the cooper at's. when i was buying my most recent set of treads, it came down to the coopers and duratracs. i went with the duratracs and i love them. best set of treads ive ever owned for a truck. duratracs are my personal favorite, coopers from what i hear are great and might i also add that i did come across general grabber at's on discounttiredirect for about 185 per tire. great deal.

You could always save even more money and buy retreaded tires for $120per tire. A lot of us are running them and have been happy so far, placed my order last week from Treadwright.com

$734 for 5 tires with shipping.

I have thought about retreads but why when I can get a new set of coopers for $152 a tire with free shipping. I really don't need a super intense tire, just something that is good in snow and still rides nice on the highway.

Well if your sticking with the stock size then you'll definitely be better off with brand name.

I have oversized Discoverer ATRs, and I love them. Big improvement over the Michelin highway tires that used to be on here in about all driving conditions, especially the snow. The AT3 model replaced the ATR, so they should be better yet :salute:

Always have good luck with Coopers....have them on my Blazer and now on new Blazer I have 275/45 R20 Discover HT's and ride great

Almost worn out a set of Coopers on my '02. Great tire. Quiet and the ride is fine. They balanced well and kept their balance. Plan on replacing the with more Coopers

jsut installed the discover at3's on my truck last nov. i used to have the atr's on there untill they were time to change. the at3 were the new model that replaced the atr's i used to love how my old tires handled. the at3 is an IMPROVMENT!!!! i used to love to hit the gas a little around corners and kick the rear end out during the winter before the auto4wd kicked in, now they stick and grip like nobodys buisness. awesome tire. wont be disapointted. i think this last year my auto 4wd didnt even kick in once for me, they were great. now that summer is hear. they are smooth and quite on the road and pretty nice. plus they look good on my ex.

+1 on the AT3. Have set on my mine and like them.

I have now been running on Cooper AT3s for the last week and I have no regrets at this point. The truck does handle a lot firmer and just feels more confident, no excess road noise and they look great on the truck.

After much research, I put Cooper A/T's on the 1998 X but notice that it seems really firm and tippy. Hopefully after the alignment next week, it will not feel this way. I also just put new shocks on as well. Perhaps washing it after two years rearranged the "dirt" load....haha. Taking it cross country in November, wish me luck
