I have gotten the motivation as well as enough money to get back to work on my 97 xlt sohc explorer. my question is for those who have replaced their core support is how did you get the body mounts on after welding? thanks.

Body mounts on AFTER welding?
Ummmm.

Ideally you should have mounted the core support to the frame via the mounts and bolted them accordingly. This way the mounts would have dictated where the core support should be.

So am I to gather you welded it up and the bushings are not there ?

no I haven't welded yet I'm about ready to. The problem I am having is trying to get the body mounts on then put the core on so I could hold into place a little better.

I am having trouble getting on your page, I apologize.

The core support should just have holes in it where the bolts go through into the bushings into the mounts on the frame. ( well technically the bolts go upwards, but point being... )

So you should just be able to set the bushings on the frame, then set the core support right on top of the bushings then bolt them all together.
