Courier 5r55w Trans swap question

Hi folks i>m an Aussie but please dont hold that against me or i will send you a truck load of drop bears, Seewhat you can do with those, Seriously i need some advise, I have just purchased a 2005 V6 4Ltr. Courier with a blown tranny & cant locate a replacement, However i have had a great offer on the same model but in 2x4, My question is can i simply change the extension housing to fit it or is there more to it, It looks to me to be possable !! ??

More like the ranger series, Made in South Africa I believe, The same 4ltr. V6 & same faulty 5r55W 5 speed auto with the same Servo pin oval bore problems !!
