Can I order one of these pulleys in Jegs or summit for a mustang to replace the crankshaft pulley that came with my powerdyne s/c? Powerdyne wants $680 and the ones in Jegs are $120... what's the difference?

ok, I am desperate...

Is there anyone out there who has any idea???

Does your pulley run one or two belts? If it runs a seperate belt for the supercharger your s.o.l. If the supercharger is run off the same serp. belt as the rest of the accessories you will need to determine if the replacement pulley is the same diameter as your current one. If it is, you should be ok. If it is a different diameter it will not work. Changing pulley size will affect the speed of the serp. belt, which in turn will change the speed of the supercharger. This can result in loss of power or over boost, not to mention void any warranty the supercharger may have.

Does your mountaineer have a V8? Another guy posted on here about the Jegs pulley not fitting his V8.

yup...

yeah, it has the 302 in it.

2 belts...

It runs off of a seperate belt... why am I sol?

will this not work?

It's hard to see, but those rims look really nice. Excellent choice! Those are definitely truck rims.

Have you tried contacting Vortech directly and asking them if it will work?

2001ExpSport - Thanks man! I posted a bunch of pics in my Elite Pictures Area if you wish the take a glance. THanks for the comment though... :)

mrboyle - I have talked to Powerdyne but they really don't know anything. They weren't much of a help. Do you know is the crankshaft pulley assembly comes apart? Can I get a machine shop to pull it apart or something?

to anyone that cares...

I know all of you know the story of my s/c install, well, get this... I went to order a new pulley and spacer ($320) to fit inside the crankshaft setup. Well, Powerdyne ((*$%&*), sent me the wrong parts, instead they sent me the crankshaft/balancer assembly ($380). Well, I kept it incase I found out that the one on the car was different and I just went ahead and ordered the spacer and pulley again. Well, I get the stuff in the mail (again) and the spacer would not fit into my factory assembly to I looked at the one "designed for the powerdyne setup" and it had FORD writting on it! So, I took mine out, and took the one from powerdyne, brought them to a local machine shop and had it milled out to look like the powerdyne one for $40. Isn't that some S&$#%t! They charge you for the same part that you have already except they mill it out a little! I am sending this one back to powerdyne and getting a refund for $400 (shipping to). I thought that was a scam...
