It's an old recall, reintroduced with allowances for more cars that are using that Texas Instuments switch. TI should get badmouthed even more than Ford, IMHO.
The fix should be a replaced CC cutoff solenoid on the master cylinder.
The old fix was a wiring harness with a fuse (which I found at a junkyard and installed)
Ford ran out of parts a long time ago, and resorted to disconnecting the cruise control if someone took their vehicle in.
Now it's been reintroduced. I also find it no coincidence that it came out precisely after C4C ended, to save some money.
