Ford Explorer Limite 2016
Hi guys, I have enabled status for several months participating and reading our wonderful forums Explorer, I have seen many of you are owners of luxury SUVs like BMW X5, Audi Q7, Mercedes ML, etc, I have only seen comparisons with JGC, DURANGO, ETC, someone could make a brief comparison in terms of handling, braking, technology, comfort with these luxury SUV, Thanks

That's quite a request. The Explorer is the only one in
the group that is a transverse engine/trans package. Being the oldest of the old-school here, that bothered me at first.
The Explorer is the closest to the BMW in capability, and the closest
to the ML is build quality. The Cayenne has nicer materials and finishing of the interior in particular.
Put any of them up on a lift and you'll see some impressive machinery.
The hard numbers are all about the same otherwise, unless you are one to distinguish a few tenths of a second, or an inch or two to the comparisons.
All great vehicles but the Explorer is the best value, not to mention hands down the best looking!

Boss377 Thanks for your response, I've never really had contact with these luxury vehicles and wanted to know how big was the explorer, could only compare Honda Pilot, Toyota Four Runner and Vigo, who are my last three vehicles and the explorer is the best all, of course the best toyota off road, but no need for that, thanks

That was a tall order there Tavin! Thankfully Boss was up to the task! I sure wasnt' inclined to after being up since 4 am!

I have had many luxury SUV's the explorer has great fit and finish and is on par with the luxury makes. The materials used however are no where close. The one thing that has always stood out to me as cheap are the leather seats. The leather is hard, course, and has a grain that mimic's pleather or vinyl. Otherwise I would say it is a winner and a good competitor.
