custom paint job advice for my F-150

Perry, well thanks for keeping my costs in mind :). Here's what I've decided to do...
Get a ram-air hood and EGR fender flares, since these are two pieces I want painted while the paint is mixed up, then just have a body shop (either Perry's dad or one locally) fix the dent and the scratches to get it back to its original color, minus the scratches :). Possibly get the PIAA airdam painted to match as well while the paint is mixed but that would require removing it then reinstalling it so it might not be worth it... then once that's all done I'll start looking into some custom striping, I think I've decided against the paint blend, not because it wouldn't look incredibly cool because it would, but rather because I'd like to save some money :).

Aw, man... you ruined it all, Matt. hehe... Smart thinkin' on your decisions, though, paint gets to be really expensive. Figure I'll show you my ideas, anyways...

My top choice would be the following pic, paint the whole thing that midnight blue color that Ford offers... I LOVE that color, especially on an ORP F-150.

Here's another idea I had, use the top half of the stock color, lower half with that midnight blue, separated by a black stripe.

DAMN DEREK!!!!!
You are quite talented at that! Actually I love your idea on repainting the whole thing moonlight blue, I love that color, used to have a 98 that color as a matter of fact and was terribly disappointed that they had discontinued the color on the newer ones. Here's a pic of my old truck:

Hey Perry how much do you think it would cost to repaint the whole thing? :).

Thanks Matt, I've had a bit of practice using programs such as Photoshop (what I currently use) and Corel, and have done quite a bit of photo-editing that's auto related. Check out an edit I did of my previous truck:

Nice 98, I like that color more than any other Ford offered at that time, except maybe black. :)

I think the BEST looking dark blue color is the one GM offers on the newer 'Vettes, it almost looks black it's such a deep color... I think it's called Navy Blue or something like that, it's by far my favorite blue. Can't beat the Torch Red (with a ton of Zaino) on a 'Vette, though (pic is my dad's '01)...

yeah, looks good.
I also like this color (though this vehicle is WAY too low for me but I like some of the shaved look of it, and the color is pretty nice)

It's the same paint as (they describe it as) a 96 Porsche. NIce color. I'll have to talk to Perry's dad about pricing on repainting the whole thing, though I will assume (probably correctly so) that it will be too cost prohibitive to paint the whole vehicle.

Wow Grant. I really like that 4th on from the top. Very sweet.

Matt, if it is cost effective, I think you should go with the Midnight Blue as well. I too am hooked on that color.

nice work Grant! Now you guys know why I use the explorer board for f-150 advice... I've found the f-150 owners to be slightly less enthusastic about their own vehicles as well as helping others with silly issues, thanks a lot :). I'm gonna do some price shopping, and we'll see where we end up :).

By the way, the purple color is nice, but I wouldn't want to piss off Perry! LOL

Hey matt, You should definately paint the airdam. It would look really good. You say it is not worth it, when you look at the finished product i'm sure there will be a great big smile on your face. Just a thought.

Matt, that color looks more like pink to me instead of Purple. I think you would look good driving around Littleton picking up chicks in a truck that color.

naw thats allright Purple, Im a bigger fan of the darker colors... :)

Joe, good thought I'll see how much Perry's dad'll charge me to include the airdam in the list of things to paint :).

PINK

THAT IS A PINK TRUCK!!! Perry's is purple! M A T T are you color blind???

Yeah, that was supposed to be hot pink, total chick magnet :D

Well, I think I'll probably end up replacing the hood, replacing the flares, and painting everything (airdam included) to match. Thanks for the great tips everyone though! I'd LOVE to paint the entire thing moonlight blue but I think it will just end up being too cost restrictive.
