Fuel gauge wanders up and down while driving, sometimes "check gage" light comes on when guage moves. The "miles to empty" in the message center goes down steadily as gas is used. I read schematic and I think both guage and message center are controlled by same wire coming from fuel sender. If this is so, is dancing guage caused by the guage itself and not a bad sender?
Don't want to drop the tank if I don't have to. Also sender/pump is $200 plus.
