I just picked up a set of shocks too...Rancho long travel Pro series w/ remote resivoirs. 19" compressed!!! That's about how long my stock shocks were extended!!!
How much travel do they have? Can't wait to see pics of those. :bounce: Are they adjustable, other than how much nitrogen you charge them with?

Well, Just when I thought I was done (which I am) and wanted finish up this project, I still vow to build this truck so it won't have issues that I could have prevented this
Therefore the next $3000 I spend will be May 11 (just before Moab)
on
5.13 gears installed
Detroit Locker for front (already have EZ locker in rear)
Warn Heavy Duty shafts
OX u-joints
Warn Diff cover for 8.8
Heavy Duty diff cover for 44

I got to ramp it yesterday at the shop too! Sorry no pics, but I ramped 1000 in reverse and just under 800 forward,
The guys at 4wheelers all kinda laughed at an Explorer, but showed some respect when a 114" wheelbase walked up the ramp in reverse. I've got a few plans for the rear to get a little more flex (it was never a problem with that old TTB)

Nice job on the ramp. :bounce:

You will love those OX U-joints and Warn shafts. That's what I put in my Father-In-Law's D44 and he loves it. He romps on the 400hp 302, 38" TSL/SXs and OX locker. His is a low pinion without a problem so I'm sure you never will either.

Looks great!! I told you you would get get your built before me! lol I have my front axle finished and now working on my rear. Time has been a real factor as schoo has kept me at work there. As of the 15th I'll have time and hopefully I can get mine done by the end of june. I did buy me a '88 T-bird with a 5.0 Injected, so I guess I'll be at this project for awhile... Wahoooo

WELL, I'm glad your is finished...mine will be next!! Wish me luck

Kevin

What did you do for the ABS? Did you just mount up the new calipers and forget it?

Bumpers were designed by me and fabbed up by a friend of mine. The front is actually a removable winch and I have a bar w/ 2 8" trail lights that can go there.

ABS- my front sensors went out on my Dana 35 and I got used to it, I had better things to spend my money on when that was shot.

I noticed you used the coil towers from a F150 as i plan on doing. Am i understanding you correct in your first post when it says you cut them down 2 inches? If you could clarify this i would appreciate this i'm going to use the wildhorses 5.5 inch coils. Help from anyone would be appreciated, i need to get this done fefore school in a month.

Why did you shorten the 44. I'm doing the same swap except I'm using a 9'' in the rear. I'm going to leave them both full width. What is the advantage of shortening?

well...shorten it and you got better turning radius, but...if i were you i'd keep them full length to lower your COG and same some $$$

Yeah, turning radius is one issue among other things. I didn't want full width and some guys say to run wheels with lots of backspacing to tuck them back in, but then you would have issues with tires catching the radius arms when turning. Other issues with coil buckets not lining up as well other stuff.
