Bought the schosche fd3090 it says it works with a 96 explorer. I can't get any combo to work with my pioneer deh-p4000ub head unit.... got it all wired just can't put it back in the car. I had a different scosche ford dash kit but took it back because it didn't say it worked with the explorer now the 3090 wont work. Please help

Aha,
The FD3090 is the correct dash kit. However, to fit a double din in a 96 you need to do a little bit of cutting. Once you get it on the radio, you'll need to trim the dash to make it fit.
You could sand it down.. it'll take longer, but if you don't feel safe cutting, it's a better choice.

Its like its not wide enough on the dash bezel itself with the parts in there. I have to trim down the sides? Or just sand down all 4 edges?

Good luck!

Thanks. I need some better dremal bits. the one I have is dull... lol what a P.I.T.A.

It's since the stock opening is really a 1.5 Din. Lol.
