Dash Lighting-Once and For All

Ok I have a question did the headlight rotary knob or indents for off, park, on ever light up on my 97. I pulled the knob and do not believe the knob lit up ever but what about the indents in the dash? All my interior lighting is good and that is the only thing I have a ? on

I'm pretty sure that the headlight switch "indents" are supposed to light up on all 95 and newer Explorers. My switch light has been out since I got the truck and its a real pain to replace unless you already have the dash apart for some other reason.

They light up...mine went out a couple weeks ago. I think replacement switches are like $11.
