Dedicated recirculated air button-1st gen

I want to do a Dedicated recirculated air button on my X and then tie it in with a heater bypass valve.

Has anyone done this who would like to share?

I think I might do this and try to make a DIY for others who are interested.

whats the point? why not just use the "max a/c" position like everybody else? (off is also recirc)

lets say you want to recirculate the air all the time, not just through the front panel vents.

I'd like to enjoy some recirculated air when I have the blend door set to panel/floor or just floor.

Ahh, you mean you want to be able to do something like run the heater but have it pull the air from in the cab.

Soo, you want a manual switch to control the blend door and one to control the heater control bypass valve.

I've never done it, but I've been contemplating use a vacuum solenoid and a constant vacuum source to manually control the heater control bypass valve.

The solenoid I'm thinking of using is the one used for the charcoal canister purge. Its actually the charcoal canister purge valve. You put 12v to it and it lets the vacuum from the TB get to the canister. Sounds about like what we want to manually control the vacuum to the heater control bypass and in your case the blend door.

ok i suppose that makes sense, just never felt a need for it. heater is always plenty effective, only time i ever use recirc is when it's 100+ degrees outside and the a/c can barely keep up.. in which case i want all the air blowing on me directly (since floor a/c doesn't cool you very well)

i'm just not really a fan of breathing the same old stale air and farts over and over again, i'd rather have fresh air coming in.

although it is useful when offroad in a very dusty area to keep from blowing in dust.
