Diamond cut clear corners (2nd Gen)

My "normal" clear corners look as good as the day I bought them as do my Diamond cut headlights. It's hit or miss with the corners it seems.

For those of you who have or are ottering the Diamond cut clear corners, what bulbs are you using or plan to use in them?

Anyone who already has them installed, please post pictures.

I'm going to use the same bulbs I have now. I have those silver frosted ones. Scored them from Superluminaton. I've scored a lot bulbs from Chris, both on and off eBay. His prices are much more reasonable than most, and he doesn't gouge on shipping either. They've held up fairly well too. They look much better than "egg yolk" regular ambers. I also have few pairs of the Silverstars, but didn't care for the blue/purple look.

This is the silver clear version of the 3156 (you need amber obviously):

This is the amber version you need for your sidemarker:

I'm not sure if I'm gonna use the silver frosted ones or LED's yet. It's a tough call I'm kinda an LED freak so that's probably the way I'll go.

im never touching LED's again... i fried my brake module thanks to an LED bulb (damn thing ended up costing me $800)

im going with PIAA hyper white... i think ill stick with PIAA all around when i replace a bulb

How did it do that? Just wonderin cause I've had LED's in my taillights (both brake and signal) for about 6 months now and I haven't had a problem.

beats me... it just happened... they were APC lights, i looked on the site and it said they were for chevy, but at the store they said universal... but before i found that out, i poped them in and turned on the parking lights and blew a fuse, then i replaced the fuse and stepped on the brake and heard another pop/crackle, but it wasnt the fuse that time.(and i checked both fuses)

well either way i filed a claim at the store, but the store said the claim will be against the company, not them. so they filed it for me.

oh and as for the signals turning yellow... may take a while, but i wouldnt doubt that it wont happen, carbon build-up happens to most headlights, there are ways of fixing it, but its all up to you which you choose to fix it.

Just so everyone knows you'll need 4--3157 bulbs for the parking/signal light and 2--916 bulbs for the side marker(the ones in the corner).

I plan on using SilverStars for the 3157s but am open to suggestions for the 916s.

Ideas.....

I would suggest you use hyper white so they all look blue when the lights are off.

P.S. I got a used pair of the silverstar 3157's I'll sell you Al

Hyper-whites would attract attention around here. It's very ricer to go away from ambers in the front and I hear people complaining about getting pulled over all the time in Calgary for doing it.

I wouldn't see using a white for the 916. When/if I get mine that is probably what I'm going to do. Not like the lights aren't already illeagal!

If you went with whites for your sidemarkers (916), you'd probablly want to do the same for the signals and running lights (3156), or it would look out of place. That's what's getting people pulled over up here. Replacing all your ambers with some other colour. Supposedly, amber is the only "legal" colour. We've got a sizeable ricer population up here that get nailed all the time for those sorts of violations.

Ya if the 3157's are amber and the 916 are white, you shouldn't have a problem. It's when a vehicle has no forward facing amber lights is when there'll be a problem. I don't even think anyone will notice the 916 being white. I seen someone on the site already has white 916 that are hooked up to their headlights but I don't remember who.

The reason I suggested Al go with hyper white for the 916 is they look blue when they are off but they light up white. Then all the light would look blue when they are off.

EDIT: (For you Brad;)) 3156= single filement bulb
3157= dual filement bulb

Gotcha. The blue bulbs would definitely look similar to the Silverstars which come across as almost purple when off.

i'm confused...none of you are using amber bulbs or what?

The silver tinted amber bulbs also light up amber.
