Dick Cepek FC IIs

Ok, after extensive research through the search function without having my questions answered now I will start this thread. I am thinking of getting a set of 31x10.5 Dick Cepek Fun Country IIs for my x. My question(s) are: for those that run them how do they do in the sand(most often), snow, and mud(least)? Also how well do they wear? My x is my daily driver so I want something other than BGF all-terrains (no offense to any that run them) that are aggressive and and last a while. Thanks in advance for any advice.

I have had them on my truck since just before and after I finished my 5.0L conversion.
I have 33x12.50
BEST AT TIRE I HAVE OWNED

they perform outstanding on the street.
Sand and dirt they do very well
Snow and ice they do very well also

They have lots of lugs, good spacing for traction and off road, they are also semi sipped form the factory.

I cannot say enough about these tires.
They wear awesome, I can hardly tell any wear after over a year of use.

these are goin to be my next tires, i hear nothin but good things, and they are a affordable price at $130 each for 33x12.5

Where did you find 33x12.5 for that price? Most of the places I've looked have been $128 each for 31x10.5.

A friend of mine has them on his truck and he really likes them. Quiet on the street and work decent offroad. He goes down to the river alot (miles of sandbars) and he said they work awesome in sand aired down to 20psi. If i were in the market for some AT's these would be the ones i would get. They are a Cooper tire so remember to rotate them often if you want them to last... its a good idea to do it every oil change.

We must be selling alot of these here lately because ive been building the **** out of them for about a month.

I know you may hear alot of good things about these, but I despise them. Almost everyone I know has a set of them of their XJ or YJ and the do wear VERY well, but as soon as the dirt gets sticky, or trails get rutted, you may as well have drag slicks. I cant count how many hours I have wasted pulling someone along the trail because they have these tires. My boss just put them on his YJ replacing his TSL SX's and he just realized that they dont do well in mud (even though I told him that for weeks) He now swapped them for MT/R's, IMO much better in mud and rutted trails, wet dirt and stuff. I dont know but they prolly arnt as good on slickrock or sand so basically I would go with what style of driving you have.

You cant use them as a trail tire because they are not a trial tire. They are an all-terrain. Any all-terrain is going to suck on trails or mud except maybe at Moab. Why the hell would someone go from an SX swamper to an AT? Thats like wearing sandals to go welding.

Every tire has its place... 1996xlt wants an all-terrain that works well in sand. The FC-II's happen to be an AT that work well in sand. Yes they suck in mud and rutted/difficult trails but so does every other AT. Not everyone is building a trail rig.

Thats why I said he had to consider his type of terrain, and that from what yall said the DCII is a very good sand/moab tire. My boss is a complete idiot, and really has no clue whats going on when it comes to wheeling, he just thought they looked good, and I quote, "pretty"

Yea I'm on road a lot more than I'm off of it my X and Nags Head is an hour from my house so thats where I go most often. I know what you mean though about an AT in mud I have stock size BFG AT's on it now and took it in some sticky mud man did that ever suck. Plus I figure if I stay on sand its a little easier clean-up. Thanks for all of your input.

AT = not for mud.
AT = for street and some dirt/sand with good wet traction on pavement

410, I saw that you mentioned getting the FC II's for less than the BFG ATs. Any specific retailer that you can mention? The one retailer that I have been able to find (4Wheel Parts) has them for $15 more per tire ($136 for a 31x10.5r15) and I do not know of any other retailers in my area that carry them. Any ideas? This is one of the several tires I am considering.

Kaiser, I just checked Summit Racing after seeing your other post. Summit has them for $125.95 ea in a 31x10.5x15.

There is an exrtra handling charge for this size though.

I paid $130 a tire for 33x12.5 but this was when they first came out and at a local retailer called Performance Wheel and Tire here in Denver, you can haggle on the price of tires you know you dont always have to walk into discount and pay the asking price, I have bought alot of tires from the same guy, lug nuts, rims, etc

I saw in the 4x4 mag the other day these FCII's are now listed about the same price as the KO's which sucks but the FCII IMO is twice the tire

Thank you Jaime. Those look sweet It's hard to tell from a pic on a web site or in a magazine on how these look.

I just wish they were a little less expensive. Hell, the new Mud Country's are only about $2.00 a tire more than the F-C II's
