I was invited to go on a trail run with the CSU Big Wheels club in Colorado... They were doing the Moody Hill trail which, according to the rating at 4x4trails.com (or is it .net?), would barely be doable in my stock 91 X...

So I decided to do it, and went to Ft. Collins, Colorado this morning... Got to the meeting spot and called the guy who invited me, he wasn't gonna make it, so I was gonna be all alone in the cruel, cruel world.. :D

I was the only one in a Ford, and the only one without a Lift kit... as well as the only one from out of state... :D So we took off, and the leader dude's Jeep died about 10 miles from the meeting place and had to go home... So we got to the trailhead and aired down and stuff and started going... It was kind of a bumpy ride, mostly uphill and slick from the rain that was coming down... But I had no trouble until we had to go over a big rock in the middle of the trail... of course the other guys with their lifted J**ps had no problems, but I smacked the frame pretty hard, didn' t break anything though... then some guys in the Jeeps decided to show off by going through some rocks and getting stuck

then came the rock crawling... I didn't even attempt this, and a couple Jeeps, a Land Cruiser, and a really nice Scout 800 broke... I tried the alternate route and couldn't get out of the dip that I had to go through (don't know if a lift kit would've helped, maybe if I went faster) so I got a tug from the Chevy that was there... A couple really ugly but built XJ's came through and climbed up the rocks like they were nothing

Then we split up, half the group (including me) went back to Ft. Collins and the other half went up Crystal Mountain... It was a pretty nice trip despite all the rain, and I want to try it again when I get my lift kit (couple more months) and some shocks that work :D

I have a few pics (no action shots) that I'll have uploaded tonight or tomorrow...

Nice!
We went wheeling last weekend too! Wish I would have known.
One of the trails I have been going to for about 5 years now IS CLOSED at the top. The Forest service shut it down....isnt that nice?

So I am looking for new ones to conquer. This weekend we are doign Red Cone pass which I hear has quite the pucker factor.......

Glad you got a taste, its actually amazing what even a stock Ex can do.....next time you are in CO let me know.....

Love it. Nice truck. Stockers! Yeaaa!:D
