did the "throttle cable mod" this weekend...

Does the throttle cable mod just move the gas pedal further away from the floor? In my sport the pedal is way down there compared to my dads 99 XLT.

yes. if you use your hand and try to lift the pedal away from the floor, and it actually moves away from the floor, then you have some slack in there. (the reason your pedal is so close to the floor is because theres too much slack in the throttle cable.)

Is it true that on a automatic 5.0 or other you have to do the same to the kickdown cable

Sorry, I'm a bit of a n00b to modding Explorers, could someone give me linkage to this Throttle Cable mod? Or post some instructions. My '92 seems a bit lax and it doesn't seem like it's going WOT.

Does this mod apply to the 5.0 V8 also?

I'd say this mod could apply to anything with a gas pedal. I plan to do it Wednesday morning.

yes, it applies to the 5.0 as well. mine had a hideous amount of slack in it.
