Hi,

I recently installed the MODD kit supercharger kit to my 2001 Explorer Sport. I have 265/75/16 tires installed on it and I want to get more torque and faster acceleration, I am almost sure this kit works, I have a 4.10 (42 diff. tag) and I will rise to 4.30. I just one a third party thoughts before ordering: Does this kit at Quick Performance fits my truck?

any experience with that? comments are highly appreciated. Thank you,

based on what i see there, it should. just select 31 spl. and just making sure, youre rwd right? the 4wd ones cant run with 430, since there is none available for the front diff, leaving only 410->456 if youre 4wd. if youre rwd that should work! no experience with it though. how is the moddbox SC? sounds like a hoot to drive!

That's a very small jump in ratio. You might be happier with 4.56.

That kit looks to have good brand parts in it, but as said the ratio is not likely to change much.

Typically an engine with boost needs less gear after the change, especially with positive displacement superchargers. Those greatly increase low end power, so the vehicle needs less gear to accelerate. You can go to bigger gears, but the gains should be very minimal if any(more tire spin comes with lower gears).

I would suggest getting the whole vehicle worked out more before deciding on a gear change. I'd upgrade more things like brakes and suspension, then over time you can get a better feel for what it may need with gearing etc.

On a side note, I just received a new custom built 9" pumpkin and axles from those guys and their customer service is top notch. Very communicative. They get a 👍 from me.
