nope the neighbor is outa town. and so have I. he works for a racing team so i gone a good bit.

I raised my brushgaurd on mine. it was pretty simple. didnt have to make new brackets or anything. i just drilled through the regullar brackets and made a new holl in the chasis and installed it that way. came out allright.

what brand is yours?

brush guard is on but still needs final adjustments done to it. it'll look just like it is made for it when i am done.

pic to come when complete.

my new wireless riciprocating saw is in the mail so i want to wate till it get here to play with it and then it'll be complete after one final weld.

Yo David, i'm in the middle of my BL...

Did you only have to drill out the front most bushings, and just used the supplied bolts for the other 8 bushings?

Did you only unclip the brake lines right above the driver's side front shock?

Any wires in the engine bay that I need to watch when lifting the body? (The ones going from the battery, etc?)

Oh, and you just left the radiator attached to the body when you lifted it and just cut out the bottom of the shroud right?

Thanks man, can't wait to get this done

Did you only have to drill out the front most bushings, and just used the supplied bolts for the other 8 bushings? yep

Did you only unclip the brake lines right above the driver's side front shock? left every thing alone

Any wires in the engine bay that I need to watch when lifting the body? (The ones going from the battery, etc?) none that i had to. maybe different for you. just constantlly cheak everything

Oh, and you just left the radiator attached to the body when you lifted it and just cut out the bottom of the shroud right?yep, basically the whole bottom of the shourd needs to be cut off.

Thanks man.. sounds like I need to be lifting the body up soon... the core mounts and one mount in the rear were kinda hard to get out, but some vice grips and elbow grease and they were finished...

Too bad I don't have a digi cam to document this stuff

Question on the brush guard: why didnt you just drill holes 2.5" up on your brackets for your brush guard and have a fab shop make a little bracket to accomidate the 3rd bolt (and possible weld that plate on)? It seems like it would be alot easier than all the welding!
Just wondering!
-----Nate

there isn't 2.5" of room left on the mounting plate to do that or i would have done that.

I have more than 8" of mounting bracket to play with, so it looks like I will have an easy time getting that to fit when I do my 2". Woot

I was in luck with my brackets too. I had plenty to play with. I just drilled them and drilled new location holles into the trucks frame. The frame wasnt fun. Good luck..

alright sorry to butt in but got many ?'s...first of all thank god my truck is running perfect after the damn thing went 6ft under water

alright to the ?.. will I be able to fit 35's by 12's on my truck after I put the 3 in bl lift on w/ 2in tt and shackles, and multileaf in the back? I know I will have to probably do a little trimming, but that is expected!!is it possible??

next ques. is there any good write ups on doing a bl on a 97 expo sport on this website...if not anyone want to explain it to me???

What kit did you use digger---just a 98 ranger 3 in bl? will that mount up to my 97 expo sport? and how much do these kits cost and where can I get them from..
sorry for the long post but im a neiwbe and need to know this info
eric

Yes, you can fit 35s with a BL, Jefe and Gerald have done it. You will have to trim a good bit but it is possible. There are several people on here that have done the install, I am sure there are some write-ups, I would try to search for it.

Major Trimming!

hardazz, you want the ranger 95-97 body lift. Dont get the 98-00 one!! The reason is the steering extension in the 95-97 will fit your explorer and the one in the 98-00 wont. You will need it. If you want to raise your bumpers you will need to order the bumper brackets for the 98+ kit. Apparently the 95-97 kit's bumper brackets dont work. The front bracket for the 98+ kit will bolt up fine but the rear wont so you will need to fab up new rear brackets. Also, to explain why you should go that route:

95-97 Steering extension = $67
98+ bumper brackets = $35

Get the right kit and go from there.

alright im about to order it right now!!!!!!!!!!Ive looked at the performance accessories web site and they dont even list a kit for 95-97ranger???? where can i find it at and if anyone knows what the part # is!!!!!i would appreciate it if someone got back at me today!!!because i wanna order right now to get started!!!! when i get it done it will be one bad explorer:D

i will have 35's 2 inch tt and 2 in shackles plus from mono to multileaf and when im done with the 3 in bl ------ALREADYYY!!!:D :D
THANK YOU I REALLY NEED THE PART ##
