Digital Instrument Panel

I found a dealer review of the ST that shows the various digital dash screen driving modes. Most reviews I've seen, the author just turns the dial through the various modes, and doesn't let it fully load on the dash. The relevant part starts around 13:00.

I would say the best part of that video starts at about the 17:45 mark!

ok, I may be crazy... but here's a screenshot from the video... I swear mine does not show the tach on the left in any of the modes.... Am I missing a setting somewhere to turn it on or is this just a different software version than mine has?

You have to enable the tach from the menus. See pages 112 - 116 in your owners manual.

Owner's manual?

Ok, joking aside, I really have to read through mine. I wasnt aware of it either lol. I'm usually good about taking a few days and reading through but an utter fail with the ST so far. Been too busy with mods and accessories.

I've had some downtime to read mine over LOL.

Actually, found it by accident. I was annoyed there was no tach in the "normal" mode at first. But thumbing through the menus I found it and was like "Oh Yeah!"

Downtime lmao.. I see what you did there...

I find it easier/faster to download the Manual to my computer and then use the "Find" command to enter 'keywords' to locate items rather than "thumbing" through the book.:)

funny that I read through it and played with menus.. .because I would really like the "sports" view in the other modes as well (would live with it being a different color...) ... now that would be a neat feature... I just looked through the manual again and saw the "enable tach" line... will try it after work (:

Maybe I am missing something, but is there a way to have the sport mode appear as the default screen? It seems every time I turn off the vehicle, it defaults to the normal mode/screen. I really like the sport screen better, but get annoyed having to select it every time I start the vehicle.

Nope, not yet at least.

As far as I can tell, “Calm Screen” simply means you aren’t showing a gauge display in the allotted space - typically on the right side of the display. At least that’s how it works on the ST’s 12” instrument cluster. Toggling the OK button on the right side of the steering wheel cycles through the selected choices, including Calm.

Correct, unless you configure your 7 "configurable" screens to NOT include the Calm Screen (which is how I have mine).

Following up on a post another user made about not being able to get his Speedo to the center... and needing to turn off Lane Keeping/Cruise to make that happen.....

I test drove a ST without the Tech Package and could do the same. If I clicked the turn signal lane keeping button, the Speedo would move to the center. If I turned it back on, Speedo moves to the left.

Now on my ST with Tech.. nothing I do can make my Speedo Move to the Center. I wonder if its the Sign Recognition placing the sign there in the middle that keeps the Speedo from moving. Any one with Tech package able to make their Speedo go to the center?

I have the tech.

I figured it out, it was an option in the settings to show that block that represents Pre-Collision Distance Indication to a vehicle in front. Even with Cruise and Lane Keeping turned off, that block being in the middle keeps the Speedo from moving to the center. As soon as I turned off that indicator (in the Pre-Collision settings), my speedo will move to the Center.

Hey! I'm 72 and love the technology. Who wants to go back to the stone age.
Turned 70 today and I couldn't agree with you more. You old folks are going to need all the safety stuff on the new cars. 70 is the new 50 anyway. Of course I've always enjoyed fast cars. Mostly Mustangs and a new Cobra back when 280 HP was a big deal.
