Hi all,

Recently - three times i've noticed when i pull out of a parking lot or fuel station etc there is kind of a bang sound on my outer wheel and the TCMS (vehicle with curved road indicator) flashing

example:

last night pulling out and making a left on to the drive lane everything goes well as i pull forward. As i turn into the land and accelerate there is a bang on the right front of the vehicle. Kinda as if i hit something fairly solid - at the same time the TCMS started flashing on my dash. As i straighten and accelerate everything seems fine and no flashing of the tcms indicator.

This happened before and the exact same sound, feel and situation. just that if i am turning right then its the left (outer wheel/front) that it happens with.

The roads are clean, no oil slick/ice/snow/gravel or anything. I thought perhaps i accelerated to fast out of the turn but wanted to check in on it also.

Is this how TCMS is supposed to behave and have you seen or felt this also?

I'll try to replicate over the weekend and see what happens.

Thanks.

Edit: Service appt scheduled for tomorrow. Will update as i know more info - there goes my Atlantic City weekend getaway!

This does not sound like a normal operation of the traction control system. I don't believe you should even notice it coming on except for the dash icon. Also, from what you posted, there doesn't seem to be any conditions that would call for the traction control to engage.

Just providing an update.

So after visiting my dealer the only feedback i have is that i was driving to aggressively and maneuvering the vehicle as such.

I was shown a few codes that seem to suggest the same. Apparently there is some sensor on the vehicle that detects aggressive actions (+1 to the GF/Wife/ controlling other list)

Do i believe them? Hmmm I suppose i could, although i wasnt driving aggressively by my stantards i did maneuver the vehicle in kinda like a tight S (hairpin/goose neck kinda) at that time. I'll try to replicate eventually, but still keeping an ear for a re-occurence.
