Lately i have noticed that my explorer is starting to get noisy. It sounds like it is coming from my shocks. My x has 94,000 on it, i asked my dad if i needed new shocks and he said they way to tell is if the car doesn't stop bouncing after you hit a bump then the shocks are bad, and my car doesn't have a bouncing problem. Is there any other signs?I took the car to a local garage and he said he fixed the noises but a week later they were back. Is there a way to stop the noises? thanks

I would say that with 94k on her, you are due some new shocks.

Good luck......

I've always figured OEM shocks are good for 30,000 miles or so.
You will notice a pleasant difference with any new shock you choose.

Just replaced my OEM shocks (92k), was hoping it would silence the front passenger side creaking I get when slowly rolling over bumps, but it didn't. From info I could find here it may be a ball joint, hopefully your noises are the shocks (cheaper than ball joints)
