I have all this stuff, like a rolling advertisment of break-in-to-ME. This is my daily driver.
Yes, I have a great Alarm, GPS recovery, Proximity sensor, bla bla bla. However, That is not going to help if some M-F'er comes up as I walk out from the Ball game or anywhere else and clock's me in the head to get my keys and then be gone with the truck. The truck sad but oh well, I have insurance on everything, aftermarket products, custom work endoursment.

But I don't want to get killed or even worse! I don't even like my girlfriend driving it. Well, I guess that is for a couple of reasons.

So, I am the only one that has thought of this? Am I crazy or is this thought in check? Let me know any info you think.

I think about it. I have seen a bunch of people walk down the street together, spread out and one of them went up to mine and started looking in the windows while the others were on watch. I was in the building across the street watching the whole thing go down and thank god I was close enough... I just hit my panic button and all I saw was a bunch of mexicans fleaing. Its too bad you cant have something nice without having to worry about it.

Yea, with my alarm I have like a 1/2 mile range and can set off the alarm. I can see it from my desk at work. The two 160db peizo sires inside and two DEI sirens out side that are battery backed up. It is very loud. Inside it is actually PAINFUL! For real, I like it when I get gas and go in to pay or something and my girly stays in the X. I will arm it and it will ship once. It is funny as hell! She jumps so high, sometimes I think she will jump out of the sunroof! ROLMAO

Im wondering, what is worse than getting killed for your X....

I know, getting knocked over the head and paralyzed, then your X gets stolen only to be returned to you by the police and you cant drive anymore.

I am personally scared @#$%less because i am putting a 1800 dollar system in and I dont want no little punks stealing my stuff. Black Magic if you could give me the place where you got your alarm I will be much greatfull. I was thinking about a Viper but after hearing what yours does I am having second thoughts.... I also gotta get my rear glass tinted (the one i didnt) because you could see the box from outside, i gotta get the middle ones down to about 20% because too much light is coming in and shining into the cargo area and I know its not the rear side windows because they are limoed... I will say one thing, I will never have my box in my car going down to philly and I will always detach my head unit.

Alarms/anti-theft

RoadEnforcer, something else you might want to consider is some kind of cover that goes over/covers cargo area. Not too sure about earlier years, but on my X there are little notches located on either side of cargo area (same level as bottom of rear windows) in which I can mount some kind of cargo cover that rolls up. Could help to hide expensive equipment! Just a thought.

yeah i have one, but the ported box for the sub is gonna be huge so I dont think it will go over it.

RoadEnforcer are you gonna bolt that box down to the floor? and I would use liquid nails and glue that sub to the box then screw it down. Its hard for people to steal stuff if it is bolted down.

RoadEnforcer You can have all that stuff added to any alarm. Well any DEI alarm, that would be most any alarm out there anymore. They are all DEI now, Viper, Cifford, Python, Stinger, all differnt names for the exact same stuff. Just stop by your local audio shop. They can set you up. I love top two zone proximity alarms. I have two one in front and one in the rear. They have basicly two bubbles. The outer bubble will just give a warnig chip-chip-chirp... That will go off if you get too close, like if you try and look in the window. The Inner bubble will set off the alarms instantly. Set up so I can leave my windows open in the summer and if you reach in the alarm goes off. I have one installed in the front middle consoul, and the rear installed in the Rear Dome light.

BlackMagic, if I were you I would feel pretty safe with that alarm! I'm taking somewhat of a risk because I only use the factory alarm to guard my stuff.

The alarm brand is Clifford, but like I said it is all DEI that makes the alarms.

I will have that stuff posted asap when I get home.

There are steps you can take to prevent such a thing.

There are devices you can install for "anti car jacking"

The one I like the best is a little lever that goes right down by your drivers seat / entry guard, it is desquised as a fuel door open (like a Honda) so when the sucker puts the gun to your head and says "get out" you get out and on your way you grab that lever, it allows the vehicle to be driven for less then 1 mile then completely shuts down everything. So you cooperate with the felon, let him have your truck, and then walk to the nearest phone and tell 911 that your truck is within 1 mile of your location...


The other good one is a nice fresh can of pepper spray fogger located inthe same area....

A good alarm and being aware of your surroundings is all we should really need....Dont get sloppy because thats when they strike.....

get lojack! i dont even think i have a factory alarm, but if you have the windows down and someone unlucks it from the outside the alarm goes off.
