When I was driving my X trying to pass someone on the interstate the pedal got stuck on all the way down and wouldnt come back. The first thing I did was press the brakes and that stopped it but it scared the crap out of me. This isnt the first time this has happened. Its happened 3 more times I think. Once in a parking lot and the other "off road". Could this be related to the recall I had with the cruise control? I want to get this fixed because my dad drives it sometimes to work I don't want him freaking out.

You sure you have an Ex and not a Prius?

Hold on let me check my gas mileage... nope its and Ex

lol at toyota joke "toyota! moving forward! weather you want it to or not!!". Id check the throttle body, and the cable connecting it for build up, also that your floor matts are not catching the pedel.

i had a one time experience with this, driving to the firehouse for a building fire... i punched the gas, and it didnt come back up right away... i slammed the breaks, and the pedal finally came back up

havent experienced it with the new X and i hope to never have it happen again... one adreniline rush i will pass on lol...

zomg! any update OP? this is a pretty serious problem.

i had it happen once, stuck in the floor mat

I also have had it happen once, in my mercury Gran Marquis. Tried giving the pedal a good boot, didn't work. So, I hooked it back up with my toe. I had a "winter" floormat on top of my OEM floormat. Now I only use 1 mat at a time...

Well Ive not had the problem lately. I will check the throttle body when I get a chance. it could be the floor mat come to think of it because my little thing that holds the floor mat in place broke off.
