I'm interested in his Sport Trac and want to ask if he wants to sell it?

Thanks,
Jeff

You should check my history of posts before you go offering anyone money for one of these piles of junk.

On his profile it says - Last Activity: 05-07-2014 01:33 PM, so its been a while since he's been on here. You may be able to PM him and that might send him an email, atleast that's what my account does.

Also, I wouldn't call these trucks junk, every vehicle has issues, go on any forum and you'll find plenty of issues with anything. But on that note, extended warranties are a man's best friend cause you never know if you'll have a major issue. Cars/Trucks just aren't made like they were back in the day. Some say don't get them but I promise my next vehicle will have one too because I've always used them in the past!

No, they are junk.

Why are they junk???????

Can you swing a wrench, if not you are looking at about 10 k in repairs over 5 years of ownership.
Starting with wheel bearings, Radiators, Thermostat housings, Wheel bearings, Transmission, Software upgrades, ball joints, U joints. If you take the V8 route you can look forward to replacing exhaust manifold studs, both sides, and my personal favorite, cam phasers. As for the V6, the failure of the cam chain tensioner can cause a catastrophic failure, and they only last a little over the 120k mile mark. If the rear one goes its a 15hr job to pull the engine.
I'm sure I am missing a few here too.
If it sounds like regular maintenance to you, go for it.

I can vouch for the cam phasers! With only 30,000 miles on the truck.
The dealers diagnosis about my truck having broken exhaust manifold studs was complete BS.

Yep, the 4.6 3 valve is famous for cam phase.
Mustang and Explorer application.
Once fixed tho, the engine is pretty much issue free.

Lol that's the experience you had. I've driven the hell out of mine and put over 150k on mine currently and only have had to do regular maintenance and a few minor repairs from problems that I caused. You got a lemon.
