Ok...I have done a search and found nothing on this site to help me. Tried haynes manual... no help! Nothing about the door light bulb!

I need to replace the bulb in my front driver's door. It's a 168 bulb. I can pop th elens off but can't get the bulb out of socket. During my fight with the stupid thing it came "unlocked". Now I can't get the bulb changed or the socket to re-lock.

I need help. Is there anyway to access the back of the socket without removing the door panel itself??????

Does the yellow housing that the bulb sits in pop out somehow??

Thanks!

On my 95 if you take the plastic panel off, the bulb holder easily goes back into posittion. Just align the tabs on the holder with the slots on the door panel insert and twist. Hope this helps in your case.

take the door panel off, just unscrew the screws and pry off the panel, it's in your hayes

best of luck

I had a feeling I would have to remove the door panel. But just for the record it is not just a matter of taking out 3 screws and popping off the panel. Trust me...I read into it and that is why I was asking if there was another way. Hopefully may not be that difficult but you still have to remove the electronic panel on the door handle that holds the power switches for doors and windows and stuff. Then once you have the electronic panel popped out you have to disconnect the power mirror. Then you can pop the panel out but on front doors there are hidden hooks on the door frame at the top. You have to be careful not to break those!

All in all it won't be that hard...was just hoping there was an easier way to replace a stinking bulb!

Thanks for the input guys
