Okay so on my 96 5.0L I have an electrical issue that I have not done much trouble shooting on but I figured o would ask about it to see if it's a common problem with a possible simple fix. The issue is that none of the windows will roll up or down from the switches on their respective doors but I can roll them all up or down from the 4 switch pannel at the drivers door, almost as if they are stuck in child lock. I tried cutting the power to the child lock switch and jumping power across the switch and both times it did nothing. The other issue is the unlock/lock buttons from the driver and passenger door will unlock all doors but not lock them. However, the lock/unlock button in the very rear inside the back hatch will still lock all the doors just fine. This has all been an issue since I bought the truck with the exception of the drivers door unlock switch which has just recently stopped locking the doors but will still intermittently work. I bought some new switches to test out but haven't installed them yet. Any thoughts? Also my done lights do not come on when the door is opened but work with the switch.

That will be three different issues. The window issue will be the power feed to the three passenger doors. All window power goes to the main LF switch, and that feeds the other three through the switch at the back of it, in the red/blue wire. That wire leads out the LF door, and to the other three doors. Since it's all three, I'll bet the problem is either the main switch panel(the rear switch internally), or the red/blue wire broken near the LF door jamb.

The door locks is common to, almost never the switches, usually a break in the wire for one of the two circuits, also in the door jamb section. Mine is the LF door unlock circuit, both my 98's don't work with that one LF switch.

The dome lights sounds like the door lock latch, the door ajar circuit. Each door latch has a sensor in it, the hatch also. With all the doors shut, open each door and see if the dome light comes on. If it does come on, that latch is working properly, check all five.
With the engine on also watch the dash for the door ajar light. With all shut, that light should be off. Opening and shutting each should make the ajar light come on or go out. It's common to find either bad striker bushings at a door/hatch, or the circuit in a latch is gummed up. Spray each latch internally with WD40 and get them loosened up. When you get them working, lubricate them with white lithium grease etc.
