Driver window

When it rains my window will not go up or down. When dry it works perfect. It usually takes a day or so to dry out I guess and then it works again. I really don't see the problem cause I know I don't have a leak. There is never any water in the truck. I just wanted to ask if someone else had this problem? Thanks, bubba_1952.

Welcome to this forum! Check the connection to the switches, ground, and power window motor. Which window has this problem?

The driver window is the problem and only after it rains.

...You are probably getting water in the door due to worn out weather stripping...I would pull the panel and check the item's in post #4...

In doing so I always break the plastic panel tabs and then the panel never sits tight against the door.
Does anyone know a good place to get these plastic "nails"? Like a bag of 100 or so? Thanks.

...Try the "help" section of your local parts store...You can usually find them in 5 packs..

Thanks for all the info. I will purchase some panel clips and take the panel off and check all the connections and wiring. Window works great if it does not rain. Do I have to remove the handle or any other hardware to take the panel off? I purchased a new power switch panel this weekend from the salvage yard. It has all the switches as well as the mirror.

...From your description in the first post, I think the windows are up and the rain can not get to those switches...

...I think the problem is water getting in the door, going down the power cable and getting wet at the connections...

...Now, If your problem is it only gets wet when you leave the windows down then yes, it may be a few more things, such as what you just purchased...
