1996 Ford Explorer xlt
So I have a 1996 Ford Explorer xlt 2wd and I wanna lift it pretty high for cheap and maybe fab some stuff just listen to my idea for the front so 3” torsion keys halfway up with a half inch metal plate sitting above it also 4” lifted spindles once the spindles are in I’m gonna have bad angles and extended uppers for explorers are like $700 and I don’t have that kind of money so I think I could weld up a drop bracket so the uca sits lower and I’ve been having a tough time figuring out shocks. Let me know if you have any tips I’m a young broke high school kid with a dream

Welcome to the Forum.

In my opinion, that much torsion twist lift may make the front handle a little skittish. But you can always adjust it.

Good luck with the dream!

What’s the best way to adjust it?

If you want cheap lift for looks do the TT and a 3 inch body lift.

That and some lifted shackles for the leafs, most of us that I see us the warrior 153 shackles. Also, yeah, welcome to the forum!

To your advantage, the 2WD can be lifted higher than the 4WD, as you don't have to worry about the CV axles binding. So keep looking into it. I have seen a 2WD Eddie Bauer on here somewhere that had a pretty high lift and I think (at least) 35" tires.

This is a very common lift, and there are numerous threads on the subject. Try the search function, it works very well.

If you would, please, please try to post with some type of sentence structure. It will make it much easier to read, and understand, which in turn will get you more advice.
