HI,

I'm goin in for my recall in a couple days. I want to put on the DUNLOP RADIAL ROVER AT's. Im putting on the Torsion Twist/Shackle lift for about a 1.75" lift and then doin some fender trimming. Also getting some new rims...... Most likely goin for the 32X11.5 /15 's. Anybody have some Dunlop Radial Rover At's? I dont care what size you have just any opinions about these tires will help...
Thanks a lot,
Grant

I had them in 235/75R15's and didn't especially like them. Decent traction, but didn't last very long. Only got like 20-25,000 miles out of them. Wore faster then I'd like. I like my Pierlli Scorpion AT's alot better. Almost 10,000 miles and no noticeable wear.

Hi, did the scorpions ride better than dunlops? Im not too worried about the wearing of the tires just want some that ride good. How much do scorpions cost and where is a good place online to get them?
Thanks, Grant

Well, I think theres not much difference in the ride, even though I went from P (passenger) rated Dunlops to LT (light truck) rated tires (stiffer sidewalls). I like the tread design on the Pirelli's better, more open. And alot of people on here have said they perform offroad as well as the BFG's. I like the ride on mine. Still nice and comfortable. I bought mine at Sears on sale, good price. Not sure where you can find them online. Never bought tires online. Other people on the board here could probably tell you. And besides having a decent tire mileage warranty from Sears, I think they are also cheaper then the Dunlops. I also drive 100 highway miles a day on mine to and from work. And I'd also say that the Pirelli's have better traction in wet and snow then the Dunlops. My brother has a set of the 32x11.5R15's on his Toyota and drove from WV to CA on them. From what he said, they rode pretty well. And that was a very long drive.

And another thing to consider is that the Pirelli's may have a stiffer sidewall, which I think is good in a tire that tall. Better control, yet still giving a good ride. Think about how much sidewall is there for cushioning compared to original size.

I had them on my '92 Sport. Not too bad on dry pavement, but didn't wear really well, and weren't too great on the snow. I thought my old ATX II Deathstones worked better than the Rovers. You can get them on line at The Tire Rack For the $$ I'll take my BFG T/A ko's anyday!!

Those Ko's are too expensive for me. I here they aren't the best tires to chose if you hardly ever offroad, but a great tire if you do.

I've never tried the Dunlops. Last time I bought tires, I got LT235/75R15's. I looked at both the Dunlops and the BFG T/A KO's. The BFG's came with a warranty and were $2 cheaper per tire. And they looked cooler. I bet you can guess what I chose.

I had the Rover RV's on my '95 and got about 40,000 out of them. They were pretty loud though, but they worked fret in the snow.

I replaced my Wilderness AT's (235/75-15) a couple of weeks ago with Rover AT's (255/70-15). The reason I picked Dunlop was because of the reviews at Tirerack and the price. It came out to be $530 (including mount, balance, tax) so it's a full reimbursement from Ford.
Let's just say this, even thought I would never buy a Firestone product, the Dunlop is pretty harsh and bouncy compared to the Firestone.
