Dusy Ershim - Summer - 2014

Who would be interested in a run on The Dusy Ershim trail. I am thinking late August and 3-4 days on the trail.

My club (Ventura County Axle Snappers) is planning a week long trip in the area from 8/2 thru 8/10. We will be base camping at Bald Mountain and mainly doing day runs, but we were thinking of doing an overnight run thru Dusy/Ershim. We will let you know the trail conditions when we get back.

Very few plan an overnighter on Dusy, have you done the trail before?

Would love to but I just don't the time off in this job yet. I get 5 days a year, then they close the office for a week between x-mas and new years. They make everyone use there time off then or no pay:thumbdwn: I was able to negotiate to only using 2 days last year.

Ya, I have done it several times. I know that doing that trail in 2 days is going to be one hell of a trip. I doubt that we will, but we may come in from the Kaiser pass side and spend the night at Ershim lake. Or maybe we will come in from Cartwright and spend the night on top of Thompson hill. Basically, if we are going to do it as an overnight thru trail we would have to make the call once we got to Ershim. If we got there early enough to make the trel across to the top of Thmpson then we could fo it. If it took too long to get that far then it will be an in/out thing.
