I've looked at many threads showing having to take off the door panel to replace the light bulb. Is there an easier way? Can I just pry it out from the outside? I really don't want to take off the door panel.

well lets look at it this way...it takes 2 minutes to get the door panel off (seriously, 2 screws and pop the panel off, not that hard)
it will take a lot longer to fix the scratched/chipped paint and possibly straightening some sheet metal back. not to mention any other damage that might be caused
which to choose, hmmmmmm. take the door panel off and save your self some aggravation.
