Being that my 02 is an xls, it doesnt have heated seats, leather, or any of the luxury items that i would have personally opted for had I bought it new, but considering that the thing is paid for, I've ruled out trading it in on an eddie bauer or a limited model. I've found a few sets of front/rear seats on ebay for a somewhat decent price, and the only thing that I'm wondering is can I just hook up the heat switches directly off a 12v source, or is there a control module for that as well? I thought that it would be a pretty straight through installation till I came across a couple of heat/cool seat modules off an aviator, does that apply to the eddiebauer/limited seats as well?

Or would this whole thing just be a big hassle, and I should live with the seats that are already in it? lol

True but for his application here I wonder if its for anything more than the indicator on the dash to tell you the seat heaters are on. I don't know what other control the seats would need to work other than power.

I guess if I were to add it to a car, I would go with the aftermarket kits. I don't plan to but I have thought about heating my second row. I have the same seats (basically) that are in the front (size) so I have wondered if I could tie in something. Anyways, I wont be doing anything with it anytime soon so I will just have to wonder.

Yeah, I hear ya. I just wouldn't want to go through all that work and find out its an issue. I'd just go with a good quality aftermarket setup. Maybe one with more then 1 setting.

The only thing I didn't like about the htd seats in my 03 (and I have the same issue with my 01) is it's either, burn your ass, or off. I love my moms aviator, she has like 6 different settings.
