1999 Explorer XLS 4.O OHV
I have a 1999 Ford Explorer 4.0L OHV 4x4 with a Automatic transmission. I recently did a TT, add a leaf, and 3 inch body lift. Afterwards I had to replace a broken shift cable and the Range sensor failed. Replace range sensor and shift cable got it running and drove it all day with no problems this morning it would not start. Engine cranks and will not start. I followed the No Start test procedure as described in this sticky http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=264205 and my TPS reads O Volts, but if I test the connector with it unplugged from the TPS then I get 5 volts. Does that mean I need to replace the sensor? I just don't want to throw more money into parts if it is not gonna fix it. I'm really going out of my mind with this thing. I did forget to mention that I did disconnect the battery this morning cause I have a check engine light come on last night with a flashing OD off light come on. I was trying to clear the codes by disconecting the battery. But now will not start. Any help with be awesome :)

Have you tries spraying starter fluid into the air intake hose and then starting it? Does your battery read low? And when you turn the key to the second position, do you hear the fuel pump prime? I've been through a lot with mine not starting.

Fuel pump does prime, and battery is brand new bought it a few months ago. I have not tried spraying starting fluid in the intake.

Just had similar issue, sprayed starter fluid in intake showed it was a fuel problem as it would start immediately. Replaced the fuel filter and all was good.

I'll try it but i did replace the fuel filter a couple of months ago. It is definitely a fuel issue I think. I did replace all the injectors as well a few months ago too as one was leaking badly and causing the engine to run rich.

Also has new spark plugs, wires and coil pack

HA it was the crank trigger sensor. When I checked it all looked fine, but when I checked for spark there was none. Went underneath and wiggled it and truck fired right up. So I unbolted it and the sensor feel right out, plastic was all broken. If you looked at when it was on the truck you would not even have thought it was cracked. LOL
