- 1999 Explorer XLS 4.O OHV
I have a 1999 Ford Explorer 4.0L OHV 4x4 with a Automatic transmission. I recently did a TT, add a leaf, and 3 inch body lift. Afterwards I had to replace a broken shift cable and the Range sensor failed. Replace range sensor and shift cable got it running and drove it all day with no problems this morning it would not start. Engine cranks and will not start. I followed the No Start test procedure as described in this sticky http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=264205 and my TPS reads O Volts, but if I test the connector with it unplugged from the TPS then I get 5 volts. Does that mean I need to replace the sensor? I just don't want to throw more money into parts if it is not gonna fix it. I'm really going out of my mind with this thing. I did forget to mention that I did disconnect the battery this morning cause I have a check engine light come on last night with a flashing OD off light come on. I was trying to clear the codes by disconecting the battery. But now will not start. Any help with be awesome
