Which 4.0L are you looking at?

There were 2 of them. 4.0L OHV (Overhead Valve, Pushrod Motor) and 4.0L SOHC (Single Overhead Cam, No Pushrods).

Your Explorer has the OHV motor.

the year of the block is a 2001, i wanna know if i can use all my stuff on the newer block, and if i couldnt, what would i have to change

you missed his point

in 2001 the explorer came with a 4.0L OHV engine or a 4.0L SOHC engine, only a 2001 OHV engine block will work in your 91-94 explorer, the SOHC would be a complete conversion

If you put a 01 OHV 4.0L into your 91-94 explorer, you will only use the block and heads, all sensors, wiring, accessories, etc come from your old engine

oh, well in the ebay listing it didnt say wether it was an ohv or a sohc....

Well, that is GOOD info to have....

haha i know right, im sorry for the headache haha, thanks anyways guys

i got one!!!

i got a 2000 4.0 OHV given to me, it needs a rebuild, im just gonna take my time with it, but id like to know if it will bolt up to my A4LD auto, and if the exhaust manifolds are the same ect... :D
