I have a problem with my 93 explorer 4.0 auto trans.
When engine cold waiting at a red light(foot off the gas, brake pedal depressed)the idle starts jerking from 400 to 1500 RPM, if I slide the lever back to neutral it stops.
If engine cold & trans in gear , with no gas , it jerks.
When driving with engine cold = no problems, probably because engine not left on idle.
If I warm it up for 3-5 minutes before leaving , no problem.
What's going on?????
