We've got some punk here that has one with 20's... (Can we say compensation for something?) Stupid rich kids driving waaaaaaay to expensive rides in college. Oh well, I think my '99 X Sport is pretty daggum nice. And his will never see dirt and he would probably cry like the baby he is if he scratched it where I wear my "trail pinstripes" with pride.
Hey, let's lay off the rich kids. It's not their fault they drive nice cars. No, actually you're right, let's make fun of them because their parents are wealthy enough to buy them a car like that. If I were driving an expensive car, it's be OK, but anyone else that drives one is a spoiled brat.
Seriously though, so what if they have a nice car. Just let them be. Who cares. Smells like jealousy to me. I drive an X and I'm very happy with it. At some point I may have a much nicer car. Until then, I'm not going to feel inferior every time someone drives by in a much nicer car.
Also, so what if they never take them off road. Big deal. I bet many of you have bought some Nike Air Jordan's and never used them to play basketball. Get the connection?
Anyhow, let's not get too off topic (boy am I calling the kettle black! )...
There is an Avalanche around here that has those black spinning wheels. They really threw me off the first time I saw them. What about brake cooling? They seem to be a solid disc rim. Not very conducive to air flow. They are kinds cool though as long as it's on the right vehicle. I'll try and get a picture tomorrow. The guy owns a shop here near the university.
Well I dont think they're making fun of kids that drive expensive cars, just kids that think they're better than everyone else because they have an expensive car they didn't even work to pay for.

Ok, maybe it was an over generalization... But i'm speaking from experience. I grew up in Charlottesville (think UVA) and the whole school has a 'flaunt it if you've got' attitude (or fake it if you don't). The greek system sometimes is based on what you drive or how much $$ your parents have. I hate to think such a great school can be so overrun by image. I know 30 people at UVA and my mom and sister went there, and this is the general opinion of them all.
(This is one reason why I turned down UVA and went south to VT)
So maybe he's not a rich punk... I dunno... He did cut me off Friday (so maybe just a punk? )
I've seen much worse. Atlanta has All-Star Weekend every February, where basically thousands of people drive in from around the country just to cruise in their expensive cars with systems, dubs, mods, anything. There were a lot worse than just spinning wheels. My friend said he even saw some wheels that didn't move at all, and it looked like the Escalade was skidding down the street. I haven't seen them though, so I don't know how they work
Originally posted by donkey boy BTW, an other interesting vehicle of the Swiss Army is the Movag Eagle, based on a Hummer. But I never had to do with them personally
Ratio soldiers per squaremile, Switzerland has the second largest Army in the world, after Israel (the advantage of a small country )
But the question about the Eagle is a different one: The original Hummer is already not a lightweight. Now with all the armor and stuff Movag attached to it, that poor thing can not get out of its own way
Kevin Garnett of the MN Timberwolves lives right by me and he has a tight ass Gwagen with some 22s. I see him roll by, its pretty tight in my book, but I think I would buy something else for the price.
Well if you make as much money as him I believe you'd buy that, amoung many other cars. www.310motoring.com has done many of Chris Mills' cars. If I had that much I'd have at least 20 cars. I wonder how much insurance is for those stars with a bunch of Ferraris and Lambos...
