I'd like 2 sets of 5X7 Pro Comp Chrome lights, a Carr lightbar for mounting over the cab, and whatever else to get the job done.

Pro Comp lights come at an affordable price which is fine by me. What sorts of switches, wiring harnesses, etc do I need to get the job done?

Will four lights drain my Optima Red Top battery while driving on dirt roads in the backcountry?

I am using these lights to get better visibility while in Mexico and in the desert regions of the Southwest. Mounting the lights up high will illuminate things real well. How will I route the wires to make it all work?

What do you guys estimate the final tab costing?

Thanks for all of your suggestions!:D

I also recommend getting some aftermarket fogs (yellow) to pierce through the dust. Mount them on the front of the truck.

4 or even 6 extra lights shouldn't pose a problem with your electrical system. Just don't run them all with the truck off for extended periods of time.

Most lights come with wiring needed. However, you'll need a relay for every 2 lights but could use the same switch for as many lights as you want.

wow with the brights on, 4 hella 500's (driving version) and 2 pilot driving fogs! D@MN was that bright on the trail! i was put as the leader :D

plus i had reverse lights on (piolot fogs) for the person behind me!

oh also if ya put lights on the roof and it is dusty, all that light will come back in your eyes. lower lights will work better if it is dusty and such but for clear days break out the roof lights.

So,

My shopping lift will include:

- 2 sets of 5x7s
- 2 relays (4 lights total)
- 1 switch

Is that all?

And some wire, female spade connectors, and probably some other butt connectors: I like Posi-lok connectors.

don't forget that you need to get some sort of power going to your switches for the lights.. something that's on when your car is. i wired a fuse block in my car and put all my switches and accessories on the block. then i have one switch that will cut the block on or off, so you can cut on all your lights at once. just a suggestion...

Ken, if you wanna do it yourself, get a kit that comes with instructions and a wiring kit, switch, relay, etc. If youve never wired before, it'll be a biotch with no instructions. I think 4wheelparts sells a procomp kit with everything you need, but I may be mistaken. 4wheelparts DOES however have a procomp wiring harness that is sold seperately. They even have one with dual switches and a holder-mount thing that works two sets of lights. I still advise the hella 500's which are also cheap and they are easy to install with their directions. I can help you install the lights if they are hellas because I have installed about 4 sets of them. They are 69bucks for 2 lights and harness and everything you need.

But we've talked about this before and I'm pretty darn sure youve got your heart set on those rectangular procomps.

Here ya go:

Your price through 4wheelparts will be $184 + whatever the lightbar costs + installation (if you dont do it yourself)
