Hi forumites,
I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I have excessive wind noise in the cabin, and I can feel the air coming through the door jam on the highway.
I replaced the door jam weather stripping. The piece that the door actually closes down on. However, I believe I need to replace the stripping along the outside of the door, near the window. The stripping has shrunk and there are multiple gaps present where the seams are. I'm looking for a place where I can order weather stripping (hopefully they have a diagram to reference) and some advice on installation. Does it us an adhesive? The door jam strip just presses in. Thank u

Door Seal

Rock Auto:

FAIRCHILD Part # F3031 {#F1TZ7820708C, FO1390109}
One of our most popular parts
Door Seal; Front Left; 4 door
$18.54

Took me about 1/2 to swap.

Its the door seeal. No big issue, cheap part.

Looking at a diagram on the fords parts website, I believe I need part 51223 which is the Roof Side Rail. These are about $150 per side... ouch

What was the result?

Did you ever find a solution to this? I have a '96 5.0 and recently been commuting a lot more and freeway noise is terrible.

Wasn't sure if it was weatherstripping or if I should just put some sound deadening in the floor and doors....

Did you solve your problem?

Worth checking.

Check the door strike. THere should be a plastic sleeve on the bolt. When that drop off you get wind noise
