Well I've been rebuilding my 98 ford explorer and I put a new engine in it and it hasn't been started in a while so I fired it up and realized there was an exhaust leak. The pipe from the manifolds to the catalytic converter is shot and can't be repaired I'm looking for the name of this pipe to replace it. Would be very difficult to make one on my own because of the bends it has if anyone could help me out on where to buy one that would be nice. I checked napa they want 130 dollars for that small pipe there has to be somewhere better. I'd look on ebay but don't know the name. Thanks for reading.

Don't know which engine you have...could that be the Y pipe?

It's the v6 4l sohc. And I'm not sure. It looks like the previous owner of the vehicle had the pipe welded on and the driveshaft rubbed and worn a hole in it. It's the pipe that goes from the manifolds to the catalytic converter.

Well I don't have any diagrams here, but that pipe comes welded to the catalytic converter. Just remove the bolts at the manifold and muffler. Grab yourself a new flat gasket for the downstream end, and put new bolts ther if they are rusty.
