I was wondering i have a 96 Ford Exploerer 5.0 XLT and was wondering what should i do to the exhaust system to get the best sound and best performance out of it like what should i add and what should i cut off? I currently have a k and n cold air intake system and getting a tuner for it anyone have any ideas experts?

I personally like flowmasters i got single in dual out 40 series flowmasters on my 01 sport and i love how it sounds eventually i wanna get true duals.

Cut Any Thing?

Did you cut anything off any cats or any Silencer's??? or anything?

Sam, he asked about the 5.0. You're comparing apples to oranges. Your SOHC V6 has a completely different sound than the 5.0 (speaking from experience). Also, you drive a Sport (2 door) and he drives a 4 door. The sound characteristics of ANY exhaust system in a 2 door are different than the 4 (given that you'be got 10" less room to work with in a 2 door).

The definitive 5.0 exhaust thread is here. You'll find all your answers there. I personally have a Flo Pro setup and like it a lot. Performs great and isn't too loud. I also have an air intake and do have custom tuning as well. Definitely three mods that go hand in hand.

Remember that loud on the outside means loud on the inside normally. May sound cool for a while, but cabin drone sucks after a while. Flowmaster 40 series are not known for being quiet in the slightest.
