Hi, I purchased my Exp. about a month ago. While changing my oil I noticed the exhaust system is true dual all the way to the HUGE muffler & a single pipe out. I want to put on an 11 inch Magnaflow I have laying around. It is dual in & dual out. My Q is will I have a problem with 2 pipes exiting out the rear where the 1 is now?

Thanks!! :D

WTF would you want to make it still 1 muffler & 2 pipes?? Lots of work 4 someone & it may not even sound much different ........but to each his own :) I'd just take existing muffler off & have glasspacks and 2 tailpipes personally since you already have 2 front pipes

I am not trying to make my Explorer sound like my Vett. I just want better exhaust flow without gettin crazy, & a little V8 rumble. By the looks of the stcock muffler, I will take a stab at it & say it is quite restrictive! Magnaflow mufflers flow straight through with basicly NO restriction. Also your exhaust system will only flow as good as it's smallest opening, alas the single exit versis the 2 pipes. I dont want to dump right behind the muffler due to a possible resonance issue as stated.

Anyway thanks for the info guys!!

Ahem, maganaflow has the dual in dual out mufflers that work like an x pipe i run one muffler (magnaflow) with 2 pipes and it flows a hell of alot better and sounds extreamly different very loud and very nice sounding compared to stock. To tell you the truth it was probaily less work then trying to put in a x pipe and finding room for 2 mufflers. Alot of people don't like the sound of glass packs plus the fact that they wear out pretty fast and just become super loud.
