Arizona Daily Star, "SUV hits I-10 bridge; 2 die"

It says a Ford Explorer veered off eastbound I-10 before crashing into a bridge support. The accident's cause hasn't been determined, but a blown tire is possible.

My condolence to the family.

I am saddened by that. My thoughts for their son.

But why do thay always have to point out it was an Explorer and then automaticly blame the tires?!? Maybe the driver was checking their makeup or shaving, just plan not paying attention.

Cause hype sells news. To think someone might be responsible for their own actions doesn't. Blame it on the tires?! OOoohh! Shocking! That sells :)

Rush Limbaugh has been saying that anytime an SUV makes the news the writers make it look like the SUV had a mind of it's own. Here are the examples from this story:

"A Tucson couple died Thursday when their Ford Explorer left Interstate 10"

"The SUV veered off eastbound I-10"

"After hitting the pillar, the SUV spun..."

Say what you want to about Rush but he's dead on about this attack on SUVs.

That's horrible. Best wishes go out to the family, especially the son.

I chose not to attack the press for blaming tire failure or pointing out its an explorer because i could care less. Let them do what they need to sell their stories, just make sure none of us become a story!
