Since there is none available for 2011-12 Explorer yet, i guess i'll make my own. Have seen the one in my 2011 Edge, i'll just make some similar.
Install in driver and passenger feet area, cup holders and in back of console. Power will be taken from the sync console light.

Not sure if I'm tracking what you're saying since the Eplorers have LEDs in those places, and they even change color so I don't know why you would want to change those?! Please elaborate.

he has the base model that does not come with ambient lighting.

Yep i have the base model

I have an XLT without the ambient lighting and I added one white LED bar under each side of the dash to give me footwell lighting when the interior lights are on. Works really well. I'll have to get pix up one of these days.

JDraper, where are you getting the power from.

I crawled under the dash and found the wire that powers the overhead lights and tapped it. Couldn't tell you which one it was since I did it about 6 months ago.

Good idea

I am thinking about 194 Pilot LED bulbs, they are made such that the light disperses out and they are not very bright. Pepboys has them, have the guys at work make me harnesses and put connectors on them. I want them to be ON with the headlight/ parking lights.

I made the harness and all the stuff is in place (no cup holder lights) just front and rer wheel well lights. Any thoughts where can i tap into the power. I would like for them to work with headlight on/ off.
Thanks in advance.
