Oh New Pig. In that case do you know Sue Williams, she works on the catalogs? How about Doug Evans, is he still there? I haven’t seen him in a long time.

Ken...
Yep. I know 'em both. Evans is still here. I know Sue too. She & I have alot of common interests. Skiing, music, Jimmy Buffet, anything outdoors.

rikguy...
Sounds like we may have something in common too. I Know Sue form the ski club. The last time Sue was on skis, she was attempting to follow me down Lower High Hopes. You probably heard that story.
Do you mountain bike or kayak?

Looks like it's gonna be time to try a get together again. Anyone got any good ideas for places to go wheeling??? We've got lots of forestry roads around here that are pretty tame, and then we have hardcore, but not much between.(94ebExplorer, you mentioned somewhere near Prince Gallitzin in the Snowbash thread.....) For just a get together or bbq, we can meet at my place. I've got plenty of room.

i am also from PA... i live in greensburg.... not to far from altoona and about 2.5 hours from jeff..... im about 30 min from pittsburgh? any big dawgs wanna go for a run? :D

Hey uh darren... WHEN ARE WE GONNA SEE SAS PICS!? :D

when someone either buys me a digital camera or a scanner? haha:D

94EB, very nice loking EX! I live about 2 hours from you, but I doubt my stocker could run with your truck;)

WE should somehow at least share some good info with eachother and discuss what mods were made and what works and what does not. PA has thousand junk yards waiting to be picked clean, and some of us could get meet up some where

id have no problem meting up with you guys and helping you out and such....

I was in Greensburg on Sat. (the girlfriend wanted to go shopping). We'll have to plan a get together either for wheeling or just a social event for the PAsplorers.

during the spring/summer i am up your way every month are you anywhere near avenmore? i run the boggs up there every once and awhile with my truck.

Howdy guys, new guy here, not new to Fords.

Just got a 99 XLT 5.0 last week, been searching for mods...like I can afford to finish my previous project.

I'm in Oceanside, CA.....but I'm moving to Morrisville, PA in a little over 2 weeks. Any info I can get on this pig is greatly appreciated. I didn't even get an owners manual.

Looks like a nice site. I used to have a 89 Ranger 4x4, but that got a little too expansive for repairs (3 trannies, a xfer case rebuild, and a front end repair (from one too many beerframes and going mudding & meeting a telephone pole - not recommended). Decent ride, got me from PA to CA in one piece. Hope this one is as reliable. Plus I can say that I have a 5.0 now :D

As a new SUV owner, I'll take any tips I can get. I'm handy with a wrench, and work on just about any red bowtie :smoke:

rscamaro73, Welcome to the site!!! Which Morrisville are you moving to, the one near Philly, or the one near Pittsburg??

You'll find just about all the info you could want on your X on the site. There is a ton of it already posted. As for the weak spots in the Explorer, the trannys are known to be a little on the weak side. Add a tranny cooler to it to help it's lifespan. Since you have the 5.0, you don't have to worry about the chain tensioner issue, only us bums with the 4.0SOHC have that problem.

Bucks County Morrisville, PA.....like right across from Trenton.

I only have 2 good weeks to get my ride hooked up for my trip back east, so just cram me with info.....:D

For going cross country, I'd have the tranny serviced, a tranny cooler installed, synthetic oil and new filter, radiator flushed and refilled with new fluid, brakes checked, etc. Go over EVERYTHING with a fine tooth comb. I'd also get a membership to AAA. For the $25 or so it costs, it will more than pay for itself if you have problems.

Hey Darrin, I had an interesting day out your way last week. I was in Blairsville on business (Westinghouse SMP) with a '01 Caravan (company vehicle) and we smoked the motor (has 47k on it). Pulled out of Clem's on 22 after lunch, went 2 miles and it swallowed a head gasket. We had water pouring out the radiator overflow and the tailpipe. Spent 4 hours sitting at McDonalds waiting for our maintenance department to come get us with a rollback. Whatta PITA!! D**n Dodge!!
