Before you even ask.... The answer is YES I still do have the 2003 4.6 V8 Kenne Bell Explorer and no it is not with me down in MS. I should be seeing it again, and continuing working on it when I get re-stationed back in IL in about 2 years.

I took the TT G8 down for some more upgrades and needed another daily driver vehicle. I had kind of wanted to get either another V8 Lincoln LS or an Explorer Sport w/ 4.0 SOHC to possibly have a little fun with. Either car would be good daily drivers and I have some experience with em. Well I came upon a pretty good deal for a 2002 Sport with all the items I wanted. SOHC engine, 4x4, overall pretty good condition though nothing crazy good, and body in mostly good condition. So I picked it up about a week ago.

I have had plans to possibly do a TT Explorer V6 for a while now. Not really plans in so much as a "wouldn't it be cool" idea. Two months ago I picked up a pair of used Garrett T-25 turbos from a good friend for $50 total. They were in need of a full rebuild so he let them go cheap. I have since fully rebuilt them so I now have essentially two new Garrett T-25's without a home. Eventually I plan for them to find their way into the V6 Explorer in a very mild street build. Not anything special or trying to break any records. Just about 8-9 psi of quick spooling boost and call it a day while still keeping it a very reliable daily driveable vehicle.

I obviously haven't been on here much in the recent years because I have barely seen my other Explorer since coming down south; let alone continuing working on it or running it at the strip. No reason to spend allot of time on a forum when I didn't have much Explorer related stuff to talk about. Well I am back for a little while at least. I don't know when I will start this build since the focus is on the G8 currently. It won't be right away I know that. But I might be involved in another upcoming Explorer build by another well known forum member here soon. :salute:

Look at that. Another long-winded post. Would you really expect anything less from me? lol.

Ditto, and warm this place up.

agreed^

im really pushing to get my baby some boost, jakee is working on his, james is getting a new exploder. Hopefully theres some hope for the lil six banger :)

james is getting a new exploder.

Haha who do ya think I am working with on their build? ;):burnout: There is a hint of what is to come in James' thread. :D

And yeah Don the Need For Speed section is pretty dead it seems.

I wish i wasnt way out in cali, i want to help :)

Glad to see you come back;) Looking forward to the build and what you and James can work up!!!

Get out of here! No V8 wanna be V6 guy present. LOL!!! I believe our plans are very similar. This is gonna be interesting. Wouldn't it be ironic to turbo the little v6 only to be faster than the V8? I would love it, especially being the resident v6 advocate.

I would recommend a slot meter, 84# injectors,255 forced induction pump-uhhhh, wake up James this will be your project. Sorry Rob back to our regularly scheduled programming.-j

Hahaha. Our 6'er plans are very similar except the whole 2wd & 4wd thing. I gotta say that it would have to be one hell of a turbo system on my V6 Explorer to beat my V8 one. Besides, I already have 16 liters worth of V8 in the stable so I need a V6. Gotta give the V6 some love too. ;)

I would recommend a slot meter, 39# Cobra injectors,Stock G8 pump-uhhhh,

Fixed it for ya.

turboooooooooooooooooooooooooos :-)

There's a lot of fast guys that have posted in this thread:D It's like a reunion of the giants:D

Instead of shooting for a 1/4 mile, I'd love to see what one could do at the Texas mile, or any mile for that matter:D I'd love to run mine and then do pretty much what rockets done and try again!

All of us happen to be within about a state or two of each other so it is possible. haha.

Whew you can keep that stuff! I am fine running the X up to about 120-130 but going balls out for a full mile, I don't think I prefer to go that speed in the X. Now in the G8 that would be a possibility.

Ditto, an SUV may be able to go 150+, but doing it is not too bright. Handling of a top heavy vehicle going really fast is not good, avoid that.

Good to hear you will be working on another build.

I have been kinda absent on here for awhile too. Mine has been broke since June so I didn't have any reason to post. Couldn't afford to fix it on unemployment.
