Been driving it all day with no issues. Stopped at 7-11 and came out and i got a slow crank then it stopped. Tried it again and nothing, no clicks, nothing. I know its not the battery because everything works fine and ive been driving it around. Starter solenoid??

Check the battery connections. Clean and tighten them. Then check the starter relay. There is also a starter relay fuse

It very well "could" be a dead battery. Accessories do not need as many amps to run as the starter does. Driving with lack of recharge will run a battery dead.
If the voltage is low enough, the starter relay will not even operate, even though the radio, windows and headlights do.

The battery is new and the alternator is less then a year old. I will try a jump start tmrw morning and check fuses/relays. The only reason i suspect starter is because ive had an intermittent slow crank condition when warm since i got the X 2 years ago and everything on this truck except the battery was original when i got it.

Wound up being the starter.

Thanks again, Jon!

Did ya beat the snot out of it??? Starters and me don't get a long and they always get a beating hahahaha. Glad ya got it fixed

No, had it replaced. The old starter looked like crap, and was in pretty bad shape. My mechanic had one of the studs break off the starter itself (looked like it rusted out where it was mounted on the starter). New starter sounds WAY stronger and spins the engine over with a lot more ease.

Awesome man good job. I had starter bolts break off in a Bronco I had some time ago and it was a nightmare. Glad to see you're on the road again
