2nd gen+ had 120MPH gauges in the U.S... 1st gen definitely only went up to 85 MPH in the U.S. I have never seen one that went higher. 85 is very low because I had mine up to 105 according to the cop that pulled me over.
As I understood it after the tire scare they set a 100mph limiter on the PCM (this was the maximum speed in the Ford spec for the tires) but that may just be another rumour!
I can't get my X above 90mph. Once I hit that it feels like the tranny slips out or something. If I do it more than once it'll start doing that at 85mph, which makes it a PITA to pass on the interstate
My gauge goes to 120 mph but the fastest I've gone was a little over 100. It gets a little shakey and I'm not trying to push my luck with the CHP that hard.
Well, in my town all cops are a**holes. They will give u a fine anyways and give you a two week notice to get it fixed. Same with the side tinted windows. If you have any windows tinted infront of the drivers shoulders, then its a fine (over $100) then you get a two week notice.
