Do all US models only go to 85 MPH, or is it just the after market gauges?

Here is mine, goes up to 120:

Here is the one I want (with tach of course):

Very strange. Mine only goes to 85, as well as all the others I've seen. 180km is like 115mph. 85 isn't accurate, but 115 is a little high too.

Mine goes to 120MPH with stock guages, I've had it to 110 once.

2nd gen+ had 120MPH gauges in the U.S... 1st gen definitely only went up to 85 MPH in the U.S. I have never seen one that went higher. 85 is very low because I had mine up to 105 according to the cop that pulled me over. :nono:

As I understood it after the tire scare they set a 100mph limiter on the PCM (this was the maximum speed in the Ford spec for the tires) but that may just be another rumour!

This reminds me of the
"Our amps go up to elleven "
scene from This Is Spinal Tap

I can't get my X above 90mph. Once I hit that it feels like the tranny slips out or something. If I do it more than once it'll start doing that at 85mph, which makes it a PITA to pass on the interstate

My gauge goes to 120 mph but the fastest I've gone was a little over 100. It gets a little shakey and I'm not trying to push my luck with the CHP that hard.

i mine goes about 100, my friend gauged it when he pulled up next to me and then proceeded to pass me until his car cut out at 105

so basically, there is no possible way for me to get a set of aftermarket glow gauges?

Buy them, and remember where the old needle would point. Your the only one that will know, and they look cool.

on the plus side, if you get the aftermarket gauges, and you speed and get caught, you can claim equipment malfunction :)

Then you get a repair order and then you HAVE to fix it

+ you are stuck with a fine...

do you get a fine if you were speeding becuz your speedo wasnt working? i was under the impression that you fix it and youre cool.

Well, in my town all cops are a**holes. They will give u a fine anyways and give you a two week notice to get it fixed. Same with the side tinted windows. If you have any windows tinted infront of the drivers shoulders, then its a fine (over $100) then you get a two week notice.
